The Winnipeg Covenant Church was the first Evangelical Covenant church in Canada, founded in 1904 by a group of Swedish immigrants. Like all churches it experienced seasons of growth, movement, stagnancy, and ultimately death. In the mid 1980s the decision was made to close the doors on the Covenant church in Winnipeg to preserve seed money for a future work. We are the legacy of that act of trust.

In the early 1990s a Covenant church was replanted in Winnipeg’s south end. We now meet south centrally in the Beaumont Fort Garry neighbourhood. The last 30 plus years has been a journey of expected and unexpected happenings.

In 2012 we planted a second Covenant Church in Winnipeg’s West End (Holy Community Covenant Church). As things shift and change, we aim to keep in step with the Holy Spirit. We hope to not lag behind and we hope to not too eagerly rush ahead. We invite you to join us in whatever the future holds!
